06/08/12 Reno Events Center Reno NV
In support of the Scorpions, who are on their farewell tour, Sacramento based Tesla came out and lets get straight to the point....they kicked ASS !!! Tesla is no stranger to the Reno area having played here several times through out the years. They opened with their usual  "Comin Atcha Live" and ripped through seven more tunes after that. In their eight song set there was nothing off their last two studio releases. Everything this night came from their classic 80's releases. A great set list that included "Hang Tough", " Heavens Trail", and one of the best songs to come out of the 80's "Modern Day Cowboy". They closed their night with "Little Suzie"  the other big hit off their first release.

Having seen Tesla a few dozen times in my life I can say this was one of their better performance's I have seen. The band was in rare form. Singer Jeff Keith sound great and was all over the stage working the crowd and messing with the guys in the band.

Dave Rude being the only non original member in the band has settled into his guitar role quite nicely over the last few years. He and Frank Hannon work very well on the duel guitar attack.  Both guys just tore it up and highlighted why this bands music still rocks to this day. Timeless !

The backbone of Tesla are two more fantastic players. Tony Luccketta on drums and Brian Wheat on bass. Both just having a fantastic night.

This was the first night of this leg of the "The Final Sting"  US tour. The great thing about Tesla this night is that they got nothing to prove. They are already a well recognized and established band and their unbelievable performance tonight concreted the fact. This tour is just underway. With this reportedly being the Scorpions last tour and having Tesla as the opener this will be one of the summer tours to spend your dollars on.
