11/03/2013 "Night of the Living Dreads" tour Grand Sierra Resort Reno Nevada
Appropriately  titled " Night of the Living Dreads tour" seven time Grammy  nominated/filmmaker Rob Zombie once again teams up with two time Grammy Award winning Korn for a co-headlining jaunt across North America. This devastating tour got underway with a sold out show at the Grand Sierra Resort in Reno Nevada on November 3, 2013. Fans of all ages arrived to find the line weaving threw the casino, out it's front doors, and down into the South parking lot. Amazing turn out for a great line up.

The band "Scar the Martyr" got the onslaught started. This band is the brainchild of Slipknot drummer Joey Jordison. Not being familiar with these guys I was taken back at what a full sound and aggressive playing these guy's brought to the stage. Scare the Martyr had the crowd in a frenzy when all was said and done. Great start to the evening. Scarthemartyr.com
Rob Zombie, who is on tour in support of his latest release "Venomous Rat Regeneration Vendor", was first of the co-headliners to dominate the crowd.
The stage was overall pretty straight forward with the backdrop covered with pictures of legendary movie monsters such as Frankenstein, the Wolfman and Nosferatu looking statues covering the mic stands.
Rob's band hit the stage with guitarist John 5 wearing a mask with neon glowing eye's and a glowing fluid filled guitar to match. Bass player Piggy D was not to be outdone with his Wolf mask and sporting a wooden cross bass. Rob wearing a long leather trench coat with hat walked up to the mic slowly and from that point it was game on ! After tearing threw several songs, including " Living Dead Girl" and his latest video a cover of Grand Funk Railroad's "We're an American Band", Rob mentioned to the crowd that he is finding that no one recognizes his former band White Zombie's songs anymore. Needless to say the crowd responded with boo's and without another word John 5 ripped into "Thunder Kiss 65". This night there was a noticeable absence of fire and visual effects from past shows I have seen of his. Now don't be fooled because this did not distract from the show one bit. The great showman Rob Zombie and his All Star band didn't need any flash they came out and plain and simple kicked ass ! Robzombie.com

As for the second  act on this co-headlining bill. Well....straight up....Korn walked out and freakin' dreads started flying !!!! Not sure what else to tell ya other then these guys kick ass live ! Johnathan Davis voice sounded great as they soared threw hits like 'Falling Away From Me" and "Twisted Transistor". It was great to see the return of guitarist Brian "Head" Welch after his departure from the band in 2005.
Korn is also out in support of their latest offering "The Paradigm Shift" which was released last October. They performed the first single "Never Never" of the new album as well as "Pray For Me". The new material sounded great live and are sure to be Korn classic's. After they closed with "Freak on a Leash" Singer Johnathan Davis had the crowd sing happy birthday to bass player Fieldy while they brought out a cake for him. Great way to end an incredible night of ass kickin' Metal !!!!! Korn.com
The " Night of the Living Dreads" tour is just getting started. For the ticket price you could not ask for a better pairing of the two headliners along with a great opening act. Don't miss this show when it rolls threw.
